JOHANNESBURG – Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has patted motorists on the back for their behaviour during the Easter long weekend.

He says there were fewer prosecutions than in previous years.

“It will be remiss of me if I don’t commend the motorists for displaying good behaviour and willingness to comply with the rules of the road during the Easter period,” Mbalula said.

“Statistics show that there were fewer people prosecuted for speeding, drunken driving, driving unlicensed vehicles, driving without fastening your seatbelts this year compared to previous years.”
